Our grassroots staff spent time in Atlanta last weekend for Nike EYBL Session 1. We break down our notes to take a look at standout 2027s.

EYBL Session I 2027 Standouts
Marcus Spears, 6’9 PF – Drive Nation: Made athletic plays and biggest impact was on glass and defensive end (rim protecting and switching on other wings). Still some ways from being a reliable option in half-court setting, but plays with high motor and is a big-time interior play finisher.
CJ Rosser, 6’9 PF – Team United: Just oay this weekend at best compared to what we are accustomed to. Had stretches where he made consecutive shots from the perimeter and drove to the rim,, but didn’t put it all together in Atlanta.
Dooney Johnson, 6’5 CG – Team Herro: Had a very solid weekend. A big jumbo guard with long arms and can defend multiple spots. He’s also a good kick out artist and finisher on drives. Even though jumper wasn’t falling at a high rate, his size, versatility, handle, athletic fluidity and IQ was on display.
Kager Knueppel, 6’9 PF – Team Herro: Efficient outing for Kager. Size and shooting was on display, as was his ability to attack closeouts and get to the rim. At 6’9 with ability to space the floor and make plays with the ball in his hands has him as a stock riser for us.
Jack Kohnen, 6’6 SF – Team Herro: Big fan of his game. Fine positional size and can really shoot it. Big-time standstill and movement shooter.
Lewis Uvwo, 6’10 C – Nightrydas: He was the best shot-blocker in the whole event. Still raw offensively. Vertical threat and play finisher, but he moves well and is a big-time rim-protector.
Marri Wesley, 6’5 SF – AB Elite: Hard playing and physical forward with a powerful build. Averaged 21 ppg and 12 rpg over the weekend. Played bigger than his height. A bully level driver and adequate contact finisher with an array of counters on his drives. Better mid-range threat than 3-point shooter but was one of the most productive players in this session. Needs to skill up with the shooting and tighten the handle some, but he produced big time outings.
Beckham Black, 6’4 PG – AB Elite: Beckham showed improvement in his self-creating skills. Not crazy bursty, but crafty and changes gears well. The growth in skill, coupled with his IQ, led to us seeing a trio of impressive performances. Beckham is a guard with good positional size and although he may be one of the last of the mohicans of true, floor managing lead guards, he’s an updated version of that archetype and I believe has a good NBA Ceiling as well.
T.J. Jamison, 6’1 CG – JL3: Good scoring outing for TJ but also made plays for others. Led his team to a 3-0 record in Session 1. Showed the self-creating scoring chops and adequate passing reads.
Ahmad Hudson, 6’8 PF – JL3: Best athlete I’ve seen in the country regardless of sport. Future NFL player that’s feared on the basketball court.
Cayden Daughtry, 5’11 PG – Florida Rebels: Same thing we’ve been seeing out of him. A flamethrowing bucket getter that is a shoot first guy, but wow he can go get a bucket.
Anderson Diaz, 6’1 PG – NY Rens: Super shifty guard that’s a joy to watch. Strong, gets wherever he wants and that puts him in a dead heat with Reese Alston for shiftiest player in the class.
Jeremy Jenkins, 6’9 PF/C – Nightrydas: Below the rim bruiser with face-up skill and adequate feel. Right now his ranking range would be 40-50. Can it go higher?
DeMarcus Henry, 6’7 SF – Oakland Soldiers: Versatile, southpaw wing that gets better and better with each outing.
Isaiah Hill, 7’0 C – Indy Heat: Terrific shot blocker who moves well, has terrific timing on contesting shots. Offensively he’s raw and needs to be stronger with the ball, but there is upside as a shooter.
Jahari Miller, 6’2 SG – Indy Heat: Scored it well in the half-court and was a steady late shot-clock option.
Chase Lumpkin, 6’4 SG – Jet Academy: Big-time scoring threat that was connecting it from deep off the bounce. Made plays for others, utilizing the gravity he generates with the ball in his hands. He’s a player that is a rankings riser.
Scottie Adkinson, 6’4 SG – Mokan: Crafty southpaw long range threat that needed minimal dribbles to create and launch.
Moussa Kamissoko, 6’7 SF – PSA Cardinals: High IQ swingman that plays the right way. Great complementary piece in high school and will be terrific at the college level. Skilled and just knows how to play.
Ryan Hampton, 6’6 SF – Liv-On: Probably plays for the worst team in the EYBL. Ryan was efficient in the two games we saw and scored it. We wish the games were more competitive, but he looked good.
Malachi Jordan, 6’7 SF – Oakland Soldiers: Action figure body that utilized his frame. Scored it in a variety of ways and is a fluid but powerful athlete.
LJ Smith, 6’4 SG – Team Thad: Aggressive combo that has counters for days on his drive game and made shots off the bounce.
King Gibson, 6’5 SG – Team United: In the two games we watched, we evaluated him as the best performer on the team. Very good playing off the ball, showcasing athleticism, scoring prowess and sound decision making. When he’s just playing basketball freely, Gibson is very good.
