Our grassroots staff spent time in Atlanta last weekend for Nike EYBL Session 1. We recently broke down our notes to take a look at standout 2027s and now take a look at the rising junior class. There is plenty of quality 2028 talent with excellent guard and front-line depth.
Let’s take a deeper look.
EYBL Session I 2028 Standouts
Michai White, 6’3 PG – City Rocks: High usage guard that played 17U and put on a show. Self creating chops on full display. Averaged 26 points, 6 assists per game.

A.J. Williams, 6’7 SF – Georgia Stars: Looked like the best player in the country. Size, plus length, off the bounce shooting and defensive versatility was displayed. Sometimes was the primary ball-handler and initiator. Can he hold off big man Yann Kamagate of the Compton Magic as the best player in the class?
Colton Hiller, 6’5 SG – PSA Cardinals: Held his own in 17U play. 5-star prospect that averaged 21 points a game in Atlanta. Even if he didn’t make shots at a high clip, the talent is undeniable
Keonte Smith, 6’5 SF – All Ohio: Slashing wing that put rim pressure and excelled in transition as a finisher. Stayed in attack mode on the offensive end.
Xavier Jones, 6’3 SG – All Ohio: Intriguing long-term guard with big hands and long arms. Quality mid-range shooter that’s a solid secondary ball-handling option. Utility guy.
Bentley Lusakueno, 6’10 PF/SF – CP3: Best he played in a long time that I’ve seen. Legit size, mobility and showed promising scoring acumen. Mainly, it was the second and third effort on plays that impressed me the most.
Kaharri Coleman, 6’3 PG – CP3: Bursty point with wiggle and self creation skills. Good vertical athlete. He checks a lot of boxes. Was one of my favorite guards in the 16U division.
Peter Julius, 6’9 C – Georgia Stars: Rim ran and dunked anytime he could. Quality rim protector with a motor. Played within strengths and got stuff done.
Jordan Fisher, 6’6 SF – Jet Academy: Powerfully built wing that bounced defenders off him on drives and looked to finish above the rim. A bully style driver that with a full head of steam, is a tough cover.
Malik Moore, 6’3 PG – PSA Cardinals: Southpaw PG with long arms. Impressed with ability to attack gaps of defense, evade tight spaces but also make timely shots from deep.
DJ Okoth, 6’6 SF – Alabama Fusion: Did what he normally does. Wildly athletic with a superb motor. He impacts winning and never needs a play drawn.
Erick Dampier Jr, 6’10 C – Alabama Fusion: More skilled than people give credit. He’s a very good passer out of the post and has real face-up skill.
Carter George, 6’6 SG – The Family: Versatile and athletic guard with good positional size and skill. Very solid passer.
Will Brunson, 6’5 SF – NY Rens: Very long armed wing that’s the age of a 2029. Lefty that moves well, is a confident catch n’ shoot threat that attacked closeouts and wasn’t afraid of contact on the 17U level.
