2026 Knicks-Spurs NBA Finals Ticket Prices Soar as Series Returns to Madison Square Garden

The NBA Finals are back at Madison Square Garden after 27 years. While this surging New York Knicks team has brought a lot of electricity to the city, fans are facing sky-high ticket prices.

Prices shot up significantly after the Knicks pulled out a 105-104 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2, giving the team a 2-0 series lead. As a result, on some resale markets, the minimum ticket price for Game 3 reached $10,000.

Notably, Knicks guard Josh Hart shared his frustration over such high ticket prices, wishing they weren’t “as crazy.” Hart said plenty of longtime fans will be priced out of attending Game 3, despite having waited almost three decades for the team to reach this stage again. He called it “ridiculous” that the cheapest seats are priced between $7,000 and $8,000 at the time of his comment.

Donald Trump’s Game 3 Attendance Heightens Security

President Donald Trump, who is set to attend Game 3, wasn’t concerned about the ticket prices. However, when speaking to reporters on an Air Force One flight on Friday, he said fans can watch the game from home and called TV a “sorta semi-free” option, adding, “that’s just how life is.”

Due to Trump’s attendance, heightened security protocols will be part of the experience Knicks fans will have at the most expensive game of the season to date. Furthermore, the Knicks announced a no-bag policy and TSA-style screenings for Game 3, advising fans to arrive two hours early for the 8:30 p.m. ET start.

Could Game 4 Ticket Prices Soar Higher?

Meanwhile, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver called the ticket pricing situation “frustrating.” He explained that many fans face financial hurdles that prevent them from attending. However, he also acknowledged the obvious strong demand for an NBA Finals game as the Knicks chase their first championship since 1973.

Additionally, if the Knicks win Game 3, Game 4 ticket prices are likely to skyrocket since fans would have a chance to witness the team win the championship the next game. The Knicks can clinch the championship at home in Game 4 on Wednesday. By Sunday night, the get-in price increased to $10,097, according to Gametime. The highest-priced tickets reached $110,964.

Indeed, perhaps the greatest example of the ticket price surge for Game 3 is the charity market. At a Garden of Dreams Foundation auction—an organization aiding children dealing with homelessness, severe poverty, illness, and foster care in the tri-state area—a pair of courtside seats was sold for $550,000. A typical Knicks courtside audience often includes Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, and Fat Joe

Stiller and Fat Joe even attended Sunday’s Knicks practice. Head coach Mike Brown called it “a great day” for himself, noting that he met Stiller for the first time and greeted Fat Joe.

Resale tickets for Games 1 and 2 in San Antonio were priced below $1,000. Meanwhile, Madison Square Garden, which has 19,812 seats, hasn’t hosted a Finals game since 1999, providing a rare opportunity to witness history.

The Knicks are on a 13-game playoff streak as Monday approaches. A victory would secure the title. Most fans, waiting a generation, probably won’t be able to attend in person.

Game 3 is scheduled to start on Monday at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
