Grind Session Dallas: 8 Evals (Part 1)

After flying back to Texas from Las Vegas and the Tarkanian Classic, I hopped in a car to Fort Worth for the Grind Session DFW stop. This is the first part of my two part series about players that stood out to me at the event.

Zion Green, 2027 6’9 PF – Mt. Zion Prep (MD): He’s gotten a lot better. Especially from a year ago but even just since July, I left games wanting more out of him. The main thing that changed with Zion last week was his effort and willingness/ability to play through contact. He executed on his drives to the rim, made open shots on the perimeter and at 6’9 with the versatility and high energy he played with, he clearly was one of the best long-term prospects at the event.

Keonte Greybear, 2026 6’4 CG – Lewisville Ischool (TX): Keonte transferring to Ischool from Link Academy, the No. 1 team in the FAB 50, presented the opportunity for him to play a higher volume of minutes and also get plenty of touches. An unsigned senior, he showcased his scoring chops and that he truly is a division one basketball prospect. He’ll have the opportunities again if he continues to play at his current level.

Aidan Clark, 2028 6’1 Pg – Houston Legacy (TX): A lefty scoring guard with a strong frame. His off the dribble shot creation and effectiveness as a point of attack defender was present. Clark played a big role in Legacy’s wins vs The Rock (FL) and Albuquerque Prep (NM).

Broderick Wyatt, 2027 6’4 SG/SF – Houston Legacy (TX): An intriguing wing-guard prospect. Knows how to play, very strong and utilizes strength to guard bigger players. Hard to gain good post position on him due to his strong base. Wyatt has plus passer feel, carves space on drives and has adequate touch from 10-15-foot out.

Yohane Kabongo, 2027 6’9 C – DME Academy (FL): Brawny built center that heavily impacted games with his rim protection and finishing. Kabongo played hard, outrunning the opposing big down the floor and dunked everything with authority.

Aiden Chronister, 2026 6’7 SF – The New School (AR): Despite losing to DME, the Mizzou signee collected 29 points. Chronister is known for his 3-point shooting, but he was actively looking to get to the rim for closer looks or draw a foul. There was more diversity in his shot diet, which will help him down the road.

Hassan Abulkadir, 2028 6’9 C – Bella Vista Grind Session: A developing big that will end up being really good. I talked about him in my Tarkanian Classic Day 1 Recap and he was the same here. A plus rebounder with long arms and promising touch around the rim. A young big that, over the course of the week, has won his front-court matchups and key to the BV’s wins.

Kam McGilveary, 6’1 PG – Dynamic Prep (TX): A long-armed guard that needed a good game. Wasn’t in a slump but the addition of 5-star guard Austin Goosby to Dynamic Prep, and with all pun intended, the Dynamic of this team did change and McGilveary is looking for his footing. Kam got back to playing with assertiveness and confidence at this event. He was attacking the rim and scoring if the help defense was late. He was on time with his passes off drives and he defended his butt off. Had one impressive chase down block where he skied to pin the ball on the backboard. An available senior guard that if he stacks the days, he’ll have multiple schools ask for his services late.
