WNBA: How, Where to Watch Aces vs. Wings, Fever vs. Valkyries (May 28)

Today’s WNBA slate is small, but it features two marquee matchups. Here’s the outlook and how to watch the Aces vs. Wings showdown and Fever vs. Valkyries clash on the West Coast.

The Las Vegas Aces (4-2, 4-0 away) will face the Dallas Wings (4-3, 1-2 home) on the road tonight. Headlined by various superstars, including A’ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray, Paige Bueckers, and Azzi Fudd, two of the most popular teams will be pitted against one another in the Lone Star State.

The Aces sit second in the standings behind the Minnesota Lynx and have won four of their last five matchups after falling to the Phoenix Mercury 99-66 on Ring night. Last week, the Aces’ banner ceremony did not go as planned, as they fell to the LA Sparks 101-95. Following a four-day break, they face a newly revamped Wings team, who are fresh off a stunning 91-76 upset over the New York Liberty on the road.

No. 1 pick Azzi Fudd has become increasingly comfortable at the professional level as she delivered 24 points with six 3-pointers at her Barclays Center debut. Now above .500 in 2026, the Wings are five wins away from their 2025 total. Short-handed tonight, they will face the reigning champion Aces, as they’ve already knocked off the Fever and Liberty this season.

The Aces are 9-1 against the Wings over their last 10 outings. Can Las Vegas make it six straight wins, or will Dallas get its first victory against them since 2024? Tabbed as 5.5-point favorites on the road, the Aces will face the Wings for the first time this season.

Fever vs. Valkyries Rematch

For the late-night clash, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (4-2, 1-0 away) will square off against the Golden State Valkyries (4-2, 2-1 home) at Ballhalla. This is a matchup between the top two teams that sit in the upper echelon of the WNBA standings and will meet for the second time in six days. Indiana got the best of Golden State, 90-82, last week. Clark returned from a back injury and delivered 22 points, while Aliyah Boston exploded for 20 points and 11 boards.

Golden State produced 37 points off the bench from Tiffany Hayes and Kaitlyn Chen, but you can’t win games shooting 26-of-70 (37%) from the field. Tonight, the Valkyries are slim 1.5-point favorites in the Bay. Both matchups will air on Prime Video tonight.

Players to Watch

Aces vs. Wings

A’ja Wilson

One matchup I like tonight is A’ja Wilson against the Dallas Wings’ frontcourt. Alanna Smith is officially ruled out tonight, giving Jessica Shepard expanded duties in the frontcourt. The leading MVP candidate, Wilson, has historically performed well against Dallas, erupting for 34 and 37 points in 2025.  Having already hit the 45-point threshold, Wilson has scored 20+ in four straight games and is having one of the best statistical shooting seasons of her career (55.3% FG, 61.5% 3PT).

Don’t sleep on A’ja. She gets a shorthanded Dallas frontcourt that has allowed the most points to opposing centers this season.

Fever vs. Valkyries

Justė Jocytė

Jocytė made her long-awaited debut against Connecticut in the last matchup and fit in pretty seamlessly. Although she logged just five minutes, the former No. 5 overall pick in 2025 delivered five points and two assists while shooting 2-of-2 from the field and 1-of-1 from beyond the arc. Immediately scoring on the inbound, she looked ready when subbed in.

The Lithuanian native brings shooting and length, which fit the bill for a Valkyries team that leads the WNBA in 3-point attempts (31) and 3-pointers made per game (11.3). While it’s unknown how much she will play under head coach Natalie Nakase tonight, Jocytė seems more than ready after spending all of last year with Girona. If she feels comfortable with the playbook, she could be an X-factor moving forward.
