Our Key Lime Pie Margarita is creamy, tart, and just sweet enough. The secret ingredient? Key lime yogurt. It gives this margarita its rich, creamy texture while adding even more flavor. The graham cracker rim takes it over the top and makes every sip taste like dessert.

Recipe Highlights
- ⏱️ Prep Time: 5 minutes
- 🧊 Serves: 1 cocktail
- 👩🏽🍳 Difficulty: Easy
- 🎯 End Result: A creamy margarita that tastes just like a slice of key lime pie
One of our favorite vacations was a trip to the Florida Keys. We loved the warm weather, fresh seafood, and laid-back island vibes.
My favorite memory, though, was all the key lime pie! So when Marrekus started experimenting with summer cocktails, he wanted to recreate those same tangy flavors in a margarita just for me. After a little trial and error, this Key Lime Pie Margarita was born.
Made with reposado tequila, fresh key lime juice, vanilla bean simple syrup, and key lime yogurt (yes, yogurt!), it has all the flavors of the classic Florida dessert in cocktail form.
Finish it with a graham cracker rim, and every sip tastes just like a slice of key lime pie.

Why You’ll Love This Cocktail
- It tastes like dessert. The combination of key lime juice, vanilla, yogurt, and graham cracker crumbs captures all the flavors of a classic key lime pie.
- It’s creamy. Unlike a traditional margarita, the yogurt creates a silky smooth texture without making the drink heavy.
- It’s easy to make. Just shake everything together, rim your glass, and you’re ready to enjoy in about five minutes.

Ingredients

- Reposado Tequila: Marrekus chose G4 Tequila after reading reviews online. It’s smooth and doesn’t have a strong aftertaste.
- Lime juice: Fresh is best if you can find key limes, but bottled key lime juice also works well. I love Santa Cruz Organic 100% Organic Lime Juice in the glass bottle. Freshly squeezed lime juice also works well.
- Vanilla bean simple syrup: A quick and easy homemade simple syrup recipe that adds sweet vanilla flavor.
- Key lime yogurt: The secret ingredient that makes this margarita creamy and gives it that key lime pie flavor. We used Chobani key lime greek yogurt. Noosa key lime would also work great.
- Graham cracker crumbs: Used to rim the glass. My favorite part!

Recipe FAQs
Yes, regular fresh lime juice works fine. For bottled lime juice, love Santa Cruz Organic 100% Organic Lime Juice in the glass bottle.
Reposado tequila is our favorite tequila for a margarita, but blanco tequila also works well.
Yes! Mix the tequila, Cointreau, key lime juice, vanilla simple syrup, and key lime yogurt several hours ahead of time and keep the mixture refrigerated. When you’re ready to serve, shake it again with ice, rim your glass with yogurt and graham cracker crumbs, then pour the margarita over fresh ice. Waiting to rim the glass until serving keeps the graham cracker crumbs crisp and prevents them from getting soggy.
