With so many “independent” circuits out there, it’s hard to decipher the real from the fake. Many companies claim to be “circuits,” yet have no standings, statistics, or even reach with collegiate coaches for that matter. Enter RecruitLook, one of the elite independent AAU circuits in America.
Founder Mike Enright, Jarrell Strong, and team have done an outstanding job of accumulating non show sponsored programs that boast D-1 talent over the years. The non live period weekends are when things really pop though, as programs such as Meanstreets, Brad Beal Elite, Texas Impact 4:13, D1 Minnesota, Mac Irvin Fire, and others jumped into to get some good run against the best independent teams from their respective regions. The same was the case here at the Minneapolis Showcase, as seen with the outstanding group of 2028 prospects that were assembled for some high level hoops at Bloomington Kennedy High School.
Here’s a look at the top overall performers from the RecruitLook Minneapolis Showcase, which included five rising juniors and one senior who has seen his recruitment skyrocket as of late:

Khaliq Austin, 6’4, PG, The Pack 16U, 2028
In a bit of a statement game, Khaliq Austin and The Pack proved that they could hold their own with many shoe sponsored teams, as seen in their win over D1 Minnesota’s 3SSB squad. The big guard threw defenders off with his unique ability to finish out of rhythm in the paint, shot the ball well from deep, and had no problem distributing the rock to teammates in their sweet spots. Austin has been receiving high major interest and will have plenty of eyes on him during the next evaluation period.
Ichima Idoko, 6’8, SF, Minnesota Phelps Falcons 16U, 2028
Though he typically runs with Grassroots Sizzle (program that produced Chet Holmgren, Jalen Suggs, and a host of others), Ichima Idoko took the “no days off” approach and got some run in with the Phelps Falcons. The lefty wing displayed his feathery jumper from the NBA line, converted above the rim on a number of straight line rips to the rack, and showed his two-way potential on the defensive end. The sky is the limit for Minnesota’s top sophomore, but he’s definitely taking steps in the right direction putting it all together.

KJ Wilson, 6’1, PG, D1 Minnesota 16U, 2028
The most polished player in the event, Kevin Wilson Jr. showcased the advanced skill set that has made him a hot commodity in 2028. The lead guard is incredibly patient out of pick and rolls, is a threat to shoot it any time that he crosses half court, and is constantly adding creative finishes to his bag in the paint. The second leading scorer in Adidas 3SSB 16U play (behind five star ’28 Josiah Rose) continues to live up to his reputation as Minnesota’s top playmaker.
Eli Kreuger, 6’9, C, Wisconsin Swing 17U, 2027
One of the faster rising players on the RecruitLook Circuit, Eli Kreuger doubled as the most dominant player at the 17U level at the Minneapolis Showcase. The big man showed great touch facing the basket, was outstanding out of high low play, and proved that he could finish above the rim in traffic when he got it in the paint. Already holding offers from the likes of Toledo, Milwaukee, Southern Utah, and others, Krueger has the size and skill to become a high priority mid-major big in the Midwest.
Jonas McCreary, 6’7, SF, D1 Minnesota 16U, 2028
There may not have been a player in the Land of 10,000 Lakes who has helped themselves more this spring than Jonas McCreary. The incredibly bouncy swing man is a freaky finisher from the wing, shoots it well with his feet set, and is learning how to translate his athleticism to the defensive end. Playing for an absolutely loaded DeLaSalle squad, Jonas didn’t put up huge numbers as a sophomore, but that certainly isn’t indicative of the level of talent he possesses.
Theo Paye, 6’4, SF, The Pack 16U, 2028
A two sport athlete, Theo Paye brought that football mindset to the hardwood for The Pack at the RecruitLook Minneapolis Showcase. The two way wing thrived in a matchup against one of Minnesota’s better sophomores (6-foot-5 Manny Oyesanmi) by hitting open threes, collecting a ton of 50/50 balls, and defending every position during switches. Paye is a key piece in what is quickly emerging as a special group out of North Dakota with The Pack’s 2028 team.
