While many Americans struggle with the high cost of living, President Donald Trump remains fixated on one of his many vanity projects in the nation’s capital.

Trump, 80, has spent much of his second term pushing major renovations around Washington, D.C. But his so-called beautification push has faced repeated legal challenges and other setbacks.

One of the latest disputes centers on his plan to overhaul the 300-acre East Potomac Golf Links. Legal obstacles have halted the restoration.

The DC Preservation League and two local residents filed a federal lawsuit against the Interior Department. They challenged the Trump administration’s attempt to makeover the public golf course to his liking.

After Trump had a meltdown about the decision to block his plans, a judge issued another brutal blow.

U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes has given the Trump administration about 24 hours to clarify whether it plans to close East Potomac Golf Course in mid-November, despite previous statements to the court.

Reyes plans to schedule a hearing for Friday or Monday. Her pointed 70-page opinion followed a tense seven-hour hearing and her rejection of the administration’s request to remove her from the case over alleged bias.

This news follows her Oct. 26 ruling, which issued an injunction blocking the Interior Department from removing or damaging any additional trees at the East Potomac Golf Links.

“Rarely, if ever, has the United States Department of Justice urged a federal court not to believe the sitting President,” Reyes wrote in her 70-page ruling.

“And yet, here we are,” she added. “This started as a case about golf. That good walk spoiled. But it has become much more.”

Reyes cited Trump’s own Truth Social posts, in which the MAGA frontman said Interior Secretary Doug Burgum’s plan to renovate the D.C. course would begin on Nov. 15.

Trump’s announcement appeared to contradict Interior Department employees who testified under oath that they were unaware of the November 15th start date.

In fact, a Deputy Assistant Attorney General from the Justice Department told the court, “With regard to the November 15th date . . . there is no plan to close the course.”

Reyes concluded by referencing a Dr. Seuss character, writing, “The Court earlier stated, ‘I am not the Lorax. I do not speak for the trees.’ The Court still does not speak for the trees. It speaks only for the rule of law.”

Trump returned to Truth Social at 11:37 pm that day to issue a lengthy response to the latest courtroom setback.

“We are closing the East Potomac Golf Course Site as scheduled on November 15th in order to renovate and rebuild for competitive (with other such projects!)” the Republican politician wrote.

Trump insisted the construction of the so-called “World Championship Public Facility” must begin “immediately.” He also confirmed that the administration will appeal the court decision.

“The judge has absolutely no right to hold up this very important and beautiful project. We are asking the D.C. Circuit Court for immediate remedy,” the POTUS argued.

As news of Trump’s latest legal defeat spread online, social media users weighed in on Trump throwing a digital tantrum over his planned East Potomac Golf Links remodeling.

One person accused him of “Once again you’re stealing public property to be used only for the elite,” while others pointed out, “Trump is losing his mind.”

“We don’t want a golf course or ballroom or arch! We want HEALTHCARE!” exclaimed a commenter.

Many praised Judge Reyes for not backing down and giving in to Trump’s veil.

“Go get ‘em, Judge Reyes!” wrote one person, while another said, “Keep your foot on his neck, Judge. He deserves nothing and has proven again and again he doesn’t care about our laws.”

Representatives of the DC Preservation League previously addressed the Trump administration’s scheme to redesign the golf course in a February 13-dated press release.

“The East Potomac Golf Links is a unique cultural landscape that reflects the history of recreation in the nation’s capital. Altering its historic character would undermine a site meant to be accessible to the public,” said Rebecca Miller, DC Preservation League’s Executive Director.

In addition to the East Potomac Golf Links, Trump’s controversial DC beautification campaign has left other city landmarks unfinished and in disarray.

His decision to demolish the White House’s historic East Wing to construct a $600 million, 90,000-square-foot ballroom was met with widespread backlash.

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool fiasco became another embarrassing eyesore for Trump. A proposed Triumphal Arch has been described as unnecessary and too costly.

Areas of Trump’s White House being decorated with gaudy gold embellishments even led to former President Barack Obama trolling his successor during a midterm campaign rally.
