The White House attacked DEI policies again in a bizarre live broadcast on social media just a few days after former President Barack Obama’s “Cheesecake Factory” insult.
When President Donald Trump retook office in early 2025, one of his first moves was to begin dismantling diversity, equity, and inclusion policies in the federal government.
But he didn’t stop there. He went after colleges, universities and private companies, too, threatening them over their DEI policies and demanding they rescind them or else.

After an initial burst of threats and even legal action several months into his second term, Trump’s attention turned to other issues, seemingly putting DEI policies aside as a major talking point.
Fast forward to this past weekend, when Obama made his first campaign appearances of the 2026 midterm season, stumping for Democratic candidates in several states just over a week before the election.

At a campaign event in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday, Oct. 24, Obama took aim at Trump while rallying support for gubernatorial candidate Dr. Amy Acton and U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown.
But it’s one comment in particular that seems to have gotten under Trump’s skin. Obama told a big crowd of supporters that Trump should change careers.
“I don’t know if you noticed, but he seems very focused on home renovations. He should be on HGTV!” Obama joked.
The popular former president then hilariously listed Trump’s home improvement projects: building a massive ballroom, paving over the Rose Garden, overhauling the South Lawn with a helipad and adding gaudy gold décor throughout the White House.
“What’s up with the gold? More gold!” he asked before landing the punchline.
“He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory!” Obama laughed along with the adoring crowd.
A furious Trump took aim at his archrival the next morning on Sunday, attacking his record as president and trying to insult him over his past political endorsement.
“Obama was a grossly incompetent President!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. He also ridiculed Obama’s support for his former opponents Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, reminding followers that both women lost to him.
But that wasn’t enough. A seething Trump went after Obama again, using the official White House X account to launch a weird broadcast it called “Lo-fi Beats to Dismantle DEI.”
The stream is a continuation of Trump’s efforts at dismantling and bragging about his attacks on DEI.
It’s basically a scrolling list of the steps the president has taken to eradicate the policies used to level the playing field for minorities and women.
From shuttering all federal DEI offices, positions, and programs across the government to his sweeping effort to eliminate the programs in schools, universities, and private businesses.
Social media erupted in stunned surprise at the quality of the live X broadcast.
“This is a real post from the White House. No wonder we are becoming a laughing stock of the world,” an X user proclaimed.
“Why is the white house posting this? We have lost all dignity,” another noted.
Others mentioned Trump’s insane jealousy of Obama, which, instead of diminishing over time, seems only to grow.
“The Trump administration is literally filled with the most corrupt, unqualified and incompetent people in American history, but do tell us about how Obama hurt your fee fees,” a X user pointed out.
This commenter agreed, “Obama is so under your racist skin.”
