Happy fall, ya’ll! It’s soup season and we are all about the best fall soups, from cream of crab and creamy wild rice to butternut squash and roasted tomato soup. All that’s missing is a grilled cheese sandwich or a side of crusty bread. 

Tools and Equipment You Need to Make Amazing Soup

• An immersion blender or high speed blender (like a Vitamix) to blend the soup up until it’s nice and creamy.
• CrockPot or other type of slow cooker for a set it and forget it soup recipe.
• ​Instant Pot pressure cooker is another great kitchen appliance to make soup in.
• Dutch oven or other large pot to cook large batches of soup.
• Ladle is a great tool to have that’s totally underrated.

When it’s soup season, I make sure to always keep these ingredients on hand:

• Chicken broth/chicken stock or vegetable broth to use as the base. 
• Pepperjack or cheddar cheese is favorite topping for chicken tortilla soup 
• Heavy cream or full-fat coconut milk is our go to for creamy butternut squash soup.
• Olive oil to drizzle on the veggies before roasting.
• Fresh herbs to use as a garnish like parsley or cilantro.
