La La Anthony has kept her romantic life private ever since her marriage to NBA star Carmelo Anthony blew up in 2021.
The couple were married for 11 years with a son named Kiyan Anthony before separating.
The actress and entrepreneur have been candid about how painful the breakup was and about battling the NBA star’s infidelity. His actions led him to welcome another child outside their marriage before the two called it quits.
Now details of their relationship have resurfaced in an Oct. 30 clip of La La explaining how uneasy she felt, even after she became Carmelo’s girlfriend.
In the video, taken from her “Call Her Daddy” podcast appearance, she opened up to host Alex Cooper.
La La cleared up the misconception quickly by saying, “Oh no no, I never slept. I never slept.”
She said, “It never ends,” before admitting that “certain cities” like Miami made her more nervous that infidelity would occur. But apparently she found out otherwise.
“But here’s what I found out, dear,” she began. “Be careful with these other cities that you think don’t have as much going on because those are the ones, guys. Where the sh-t is going down.”
The “Reasonable Doubt” star also clarified that she wouldn’t put her experience on all athletes. She used one celebrity couple that she is super close with.
“My best friend is married to an athlete and they have – Ciara and Russell – an incredible bond. Something I’ve never seen before,” the actress said. “I’m so happy to even witness it because it makes me feel like, ‘oh, wow, that type of love does exist.’ Because I didn’t think it did for a long time.”
Singer Ciara and former NFL player Russell Wilson have been married since July 2016 and have a blended family of four children. They are currently expecting another child.
The “Call Her Daddy” YouTube page reposted Anthony’s nearly hour-long interview on Friday when it originally dropped in 2022. The channel often re-releases past episodes on Fridays to boost traction and engagement, while new interviews drop on Wednesdays.
One fan responding to the video wrote, “Didn’t she know what she was signing up for?”
Another person who felt similar typed, “She already knew that he was rich with options before she met him.”
A third person advised La La, “Just date a regular guy with integrity and good morals and looks.”
Ironically, this confession came just a few days after the “Think Like A Man” actress was seen getting cozy with a mystery man.
An Oct. 28 video shows Anthony sitting in the booth of Dive Bar BK in Brooklyn with an unknown man. The two were smiling at each other and he even put his arm around her.
Onlookers said La La and the guy arrived with security, then sat down to eat and drink for a few hours.
Sources close to La La told TMZ that she wasn’t on a date and hasn’t talked to the guy in months. She allegedly was filming a social video for content. But the man looked noticeably familiar.
Back in May 2025, La La was rumored to be dating a man named Bear. He’s an entrepreneur and former manager of the late rapper Pop Smoke. Bear also currently owns a spot in Brooklyn called Bear Burgers.
He also appears to resemble the same man that La La was out with in the TMZ video. He has a low cut and goatee with a neck tattoo similar to Bear, though it’s not clear if it’s him.
There are no details about their relationship or news of when they first started dating.
But the two did at least spend La La’s birthday last year together as their Instagram stories showed pictures of the same hotel room with the same birthday decorations.
